Weather forecast for Portland, Oregon for Tuesday, July 19, 2022

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The clouds have cleared and we’re back to the summertime sizzle of July.

Portland will approach the lower 90s today. It will be a fairly short-lived hot flash, but enough to put a bit of a strain on afternoon activities and outdoor work.

Expect morning temperatures to be in the lower 60s, with highs today reaching around 90 degrees. Some quarters may be a few degrees above or below this mark. We could end up dealing with a few hours in this summer heat. It will be a 10 degree jump from the temperatures we had on Monday, and about 15 degrees warmer than the weekend.

The rain continues to be absent as we progress through July. It’s naturally a dry month and there doesn’t seem to be any change in the weather pattern coming our way that would lead to the refreshing rain. We continue the summer with more blue sky and sun in the meantime.

We were also lucky to avoid wildfire smoke this season. High pressure extending from the Four Corners region will lead to warmer temperatures today and Wednesday. We will eventually have an upper level low passing through on Thursday which should help cool the weather ahead of Friday. For now, the state is looking at above average temperatures.

If you want to get away from the heat, you should hop on the Oregon Coast for the day. You can find temperatures in the 60s and under 70s. Lots of heat across the state with temps well into the 90s for central and eastern Oregon. Stay cool there!

Have a good Tuesday.
