Weather forecast for Portland, Oregon for Thursday, August 18, 2022

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Heat pressure continues for another day as high pressure expands to the Pacific Northwest.

As a result, we’ll be floating around the mid-upper 90s. We are starting mild on Thursday, with lows around 70 degrees. It is possible that we will break a record low in the morning on Thursday. We’ll have that confirmation later tonight.

A reminder that we have a heat advisory in place until 10:00 p.m. Thursday. An excessive heat warning for the Dalles region is in place until 11 p.m. Friday evening. For those of you who live in the lower Columbia basin, temperatures will hit triple digits.

Passing clouds and isolated showers/thunderstorms are expected to sweep over the area. This cloud cover could inhibit some of our warming in the valley on Thursday afternoon.

We have now collected 20 days in the 90s this year. It’s not a record, but they are starting to add up! The record is 31, which was set in 2018. We are now above our average of 15 which dates back to 1941.

One thing to note is that the northern Oregon coast will be around 10 degrees cooler on Thursday.

Have a good Thursday!
