Weather forecast for Portland, Oregon for Friday, August 26, 2022

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Cooler weather begins Friday! Although most everyone will be in cloud this Friday morning, the afternoon will allow for partly cloudy skies in Portland, with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Running in the Hood to Coast Relay? This prediction will keep you cool from start to finish. Beautiful below normal temperatures are expected from Friday to Saturday. Even during the afternoon stages through Portland, it won’t be absurdly hot. Drizzle is likely over the Coast Range tonight through Saturday morning to make this run even more fun.

Portland might have a few opportunities to add a few drops to the bucket from Friday night to Saturday morning. A set of forecast models show rainfall totals ranging from a trace to a few hundredths of an inch. Your best bet to collect closer to a tenth of an inch will be on the coast or in our foothills.

After enjoying a major drop in temperatures over the weekend, we’ll be spending a few more days in the 90s next week, just in time for the start of the school year. The first day of school for Vancouver and Portland schools is Tuesday August 30th and this could be our hottest day in the mid-90s. La Center schools start Wednesday August 31st and temperatures will still be at hot between the 90s and the upper 80s. Salem-Keizer opens by grade level after Labor Day, Sept. 6-7.
