Weather forecast for Portland, OR Friday, July 22

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The clouds are coming in marching one by one, hooray, hooray! We don’t always cheer the clouds coming in, but if you’re looking for cooler air, they’ll definitely help.

Portland is expecting at least two days of below average temperatures. We have a thicker marine layer that will cover the top of the valley in the morning. Temperatures will be in the lower 60s to start the day, with highs reaching the mid-upper 70s. This means that a majority of the afternoon will be in the 70s, only pushing close to 80 in the afternoon. Fantastic weather to be outdoors.

Temperatures will be cooler everywhere. Central Oregon and areas of the lower Columbia Basin are expected to be around 10 degrees cooler than the past few days. Clouds will reach the mountains but they won’t push east of the barrier today. This means we have plenty of sunshine for areas like Madras and Pendleton today. You will still need to protect yourself from this sun.

You can use the slideshow below to spot weather conditions in your area.

The upheaval causing the cooler weather is an upper level trough. This is a colder air mass and it opens the door to this terrestrial flow. Once this clears up we will be back on target for warm sunny summer weather. Have a nice day!
