The UK has had a largely gray and disappointing summer this year, but a bit of late sunshine arrived to boost morale in September.
The south coast in particular is feeling the heat this week, with Kent seeing some of the hottest temperatures in the whole country.

In fact, parts of Kent are forecast to be so hot that they will be warmer than Crete this week.

Britain’s favorite holiday destination Crete is expected to be cooler than Dartford during this mini heat wave.

The largest city and ceremonial capital of Crete has traditionally been one of Europe’s hottest holiday destinations, and temperatures will peak at 25 ° C around 2 p.m. today.
However, Dartford will reach even higher levels today with maximum temperatures of 28C expected today.
Dartford is one of the warmest parts of Kent, with temperatures expected to reach 28C by 3pm today.
BBC Weather forecasters warn it could get even hotter than that, predicting scorching highs of 29C in Dartford today and 27C tomorrow.
However, fall is just around the corner and the warm weather won’t last forever.
Warm temperatures are expected to subside by Thursday and give way to much milder, cloudier conditions, according to the Met Office.
Dartford is expected to drop to around 22 ° C by Thursday, then to 20 ° C by Monday next week.
