JR’s Wednesday Night Weather Report | Provide

Temperatures early Wednesday morning started in the middle, at over 60 degrees. Bright sunshine and south-southwesterly winds quickly drove the readings through the 80s, and into record high 90s territory during the afternoon. Throughout that time, humidity levels got oppressive at times and our heat index topped the 100 degree mark. Overnight a cool front will move through lower Michigan so showers and thunderstorms will be possible. Not everyone will see rain.

As the front moves east, a few showers may linger early in the morning. The trend will be for our skies to clear again as strong westerly winds prevail. Morning temperatures will be around 70 degrees. With our brighter afternoon skies, highs will be in the mid to upper 80s. Humidity levels will be a skosh lower than what we faced on Wednesday.

Friday and Saturday are shaping up beautifully. We will have lots of sun and the temperature/humidity combinations will be perfect. High temperatures on Friday will be near 80 degrees, while Saturday will feature readings in the low, mid-70s. A few showers will be possible on Sunday, but don’t expect a wash-off. We’ll get some sun once in a while as the tops stay comfortably in the 70s for Father’s Day. We’re following more heat into next week on ABC12 News. -JR
