JR’s Wednesday Night Weather Report | Provide

With heat and humidity in place, and with a cool front moving in from the west, thunderstorms rolled into lower Michigan on Wednesday afternoon. Some produced gusty winds and small hail. They were moving fast, so the threat of severe weather is already over. Before the storms developed, parts of central Michigan again touched the 90 degree mark. Overnight, partly cloudy to fair skies are expected and low temperatures will return to the mid to upper 60s.

We are not going to calm down much behind Wednesday’s cool front. High temperatures on Thursday and Friday will continue to range from the upper 80s to the lower 90s. Thursday will be marked by good sunshine and a brisk westerly wind. Friday will start with bright sunshine, but the trend for the afternoon will be for a bit more cloudiness. By Friday evening, a few isolated showers or watering will be possible.

It looks like we’ll be more likely to see rain return to the ABC12 viewing area over the weekend. Only a few brief showers will be possible on Saturday, and it looks like the southern parts of the region will have the best chance of seeing a few drops. More widespread rain aid will move into lower Michigan Saturday night and Sunday. We’ll let you know when brighter skies prevail on ABC12 News. -JR
