After some sunshine on Monday morning, winter returned to Mid-Michigan in the afternoon. Temperatures held into the high 30s as snow accumulated in parts of the ABC12 viewing area. In some areas more than two inches covered the grass. The snow will ease overnight, but not before some wet roads become slippery. Temperatures will continue to hold fairly steady in the lower 30s until the wee hours of our Tuesday.
Tuesday will start with overcast skies and some persistent showers. The roads for the morning ride should be fine, although there will still be some snow. At the end of the day, that will change. Skies will clear up in the afternoon and temperatures will hit the 40s. This is still a bit below our average of 58, but it will be enough to melt the snow.
You will want to keep your umbrella handy for the weekend period. We won’t need it all the time, but it will come in handy once in a while. Right now it looks like the best chance of rain will be Wednesday evening through Thursday morning, then again Friday evening through Saturday morning. In general, temperatures will be on the rise this week. On ABC12 News, we’ll let you know where it takes us for the weekend. -JR
