JR’s Friday Night Weather Report | Provide

Friday was our second day in a row where bright sunshine in the morning gave way to more clouds and a few spotty showers in the afternoon. Even with the additional cloud cover, high temperatures on Friday easily moved into the 70s in most areas. The clouds will clear up a bit overnight, so the forecast will say ‘Partly Cloudy’. Most of us will experience lows in the 50s early Saturday morning, but a few places to the north will dip into the 40s.

The weekend won’t be entirely without rain, but it really doesn’t look so bad. We will have at least partly sunny skies for Saturday and Sunday. One or two isolated showers will be possible Saturday morning, but the best chance of showers will come later in the day and night. A few spot showers will also be possible on Sunday – especially early, but I don’t see anything very organized that would last very long. Highs on both days will be mostly in the 70s.

Next week some of the warmest air of the season will move into central Michigan. High temperatures on Monday will reach the upper 70s with partly sunny skies for the day. The tip of even warmer air will cross our region on Monday evening. This will bring us a chance of thunderstorms that will persist through Tuesday morning. Behind these showers, southwesterly winds will introduce this midsummer air. We’ll tell you how long the heat will stay on, on ABC12 News. -JR
