It’s April shower season
The latest Storm Tracker forecast from meteorologist Jill Szwed.
Happy Friday and welcome to April! It’s a bit humid and “puddley” to start the day. Expect a cooler, windier and sometimes rainy start to the month.
Cooler air and a disturbance aloft on the heels of yesterday’s storm system will trigger more rain and snow showers in the mountains, especially this afternoon. Temperatures won’t budge much today with highs ranging from the high 30s over the highest terrains to near 50s in the Capital District.
The Adirondacks will see persistent snow showers into the evening. Only minor accumulations are expected. Our skies will begin to clear late tonight. In the process, temperatures will take a cold turn with lows in the high 20s and below 30s.
The weekend is off to a good start. The sun returns on Saturday with seasonal highs around 50 degrees again. A brisk northwest breeze is my only complaint.
A fast system is coming on Sunday. This will bring the News10 area more rain showers and mountain snow showers. The Catskills could see slight accumulations on that side.
Next week will start easier with the sun back and highs in the 50s. But it is April shower season. Chances of rain will resume Wednesday and Thursday.
