COLCHESTER was finally put on a weather map after complaints about his disappearance.

The BBC decided to include the city on its weather map for East Anglia following pressure from activists.

Colchester High Steward Sir Bob Russell has brought up the city’s absence to BBC bosses and even lodged a formal complaint at the organization’s London headquarters.

He said: “Colchester has the largest population of any Essex County Authority area, but it rarely appeared on the BBC’s weather map for eastern England, although Chelmsford did. made.”

Last year the BBC changed the way it presented weather forecasts on radio and TV, and for TV it included changes in the graphics.

Sir Bob said: “I am happy that Colchester has now been appointed. I am grateful to the BBC for listening to what I said and for responding positively.

“This is all positive for Colchester, promoting the name and making it clear to viewers where we are in the area.

“We know where we are, but the experience of my life shows that a lot of people have no idea where different towns and cities are located in the UK. The regional weather map is educational and not just for weather forecasting.
