AccuWeather: Tropical-like weather forecast for eastern US as humidity rises

By the weekend, the threat of thunderstorms embedded in the larger wet weather zone will increase as humidity increases further north and west.

AccuWeather World Weather Center – May 13, 2022 – Warm weather seekers across much of the East rejoiced this week as seasonal heat and sunshine returned to the region after a cool and choppy Mother’s Day weekend.

This sunshine, combined with relatively low humidity, provided residents of the East Coast with several beautiful days to take advantage of the spring warmth. However, AccuWeather forecasters are warning that this fun in the sun is set to be dampened, in part due to a pesky storm currently unleashing off the coast of the southeastern United States.

“While it’s still spring, an area of non-tropical low pressure currently located offshore will move into the southeast Friday through the weekend and bring a more summery tropical feel to the region,” the meteorologist said. from AccuWeather, Randy Adkins.

With the arrival of this area of low pressure, moisture currently over the Atlantic Ocean will be pushed inland and contribute to increased cloudiness, chance of showers and humidity levels. for much of the East.

As the week progresses, wet weather will spread from the immediate coast to more of the eastern interior. On Friday, showers can occur at times across a wide swath of states that includes parts of northern Florida to central Pennsylvania and parts of northern New Jersey.
