NFL Weather Report and Forecast for Week 16: A White Christmas for the NFL?
Blink and you miss it. I guess that’s life. One day you get ready for some fantastic drafts while listening to fireworks for July 4th. Next thing you know, you bounce back and forth between seeing who on your team just walked into the COVID-19 reserve / list when wrapping gifts. It’s almost like someone is pressing the fast forward button to speed up everything in our lives.
These have certainly changed as well. You notice it more at this time of year. At least I am. Some of these labels under the tree are missing a few names, and more and more hooks near the fireplace will not have a stocking on them. It’s like Andy Bernard said, “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the good old days before you leave them.” “
It’s not about being a bloody story or acting like it’s all me right now. Quite the contrary. I know it’s not just in my home that it’s happening, but in homes across the country and the world. Holidays are already difficult for people for a multitude of reasons. Add in the long winter nights, the inundation of Christmas commercials and the memories this time of year brings, and it can be more than what some unfortunately want.
Give a gift message this Christmas. Reach out to a friend or family member you haven’t heard from in a while. You may never know how much it will be appreciated.
Merry Christmas, happy holidays and good luck in your fantastic playoffs.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New York Jets (-1.5), O / U 41.5 | Sunday 1 p.m. ET
Overall I’m not too concerned about this game. I only mention it because of the gusty winds, but it’s not like these teams are loaded with fantastic players or worthy kickers. streaming. Sustained winds will hover around 15mph, but gusts could reach nearly 30mph and be in the upper 20s for the duration of the match. Beyond that, we are on a clear day. Expect temperatures of 48 degrees and mostly clear skies.
James Robinson could single-handedly win a game or two this week. In his first game without Urban Meyer, Robinson had 18 carries, 88 total yards and a rushing touchdown against the Texans. The Jets allow the RBs the most fantastic runs (34.78), 179.9 yards per game, and allowed 25 touchdowns. Robinson is one of the top five fantastic options in week 16.
Chicago Bears vs Seattle Seahawks (-6.5), O / U 42 | Sunday 4:05 p.m. ET
Of all the slate for Week 16, this is the only game I think we could see a wintry weather worth watching for the fantasy. As you read this, the snow has already started. In fact, the Seattle area had a white Christmas, and I guess they’re acting like the in-laws and staying a few more days. While the area will have seen nearly three inches, the drape will be fine with the tarp on it. We only have to consider what falls once it is removed.
Throughout the game we’re currently looking for around a few tenths, which I’m not concerned about right now. That is unless we see a change in the predicted amounts, which can still occur, not only in the PNW area but also with snow accumulation. As for the rest of the time in Seattle, expect 28-degree temperatures that are closer to teenagers, 7 mph winds, and mostly cloudy skies.
Which version of Russell Wilson do we have this week? Since returning from his finger injury in Week 10, Wilson has averaged a fantastic 13.3 points (QB29). With Tyler Lockett out last week, he threw just 156 yards and no touchdowns.
In the last four games, the Bears are 31st in points allowed (20.92) and last in touchdowns with 10. If Wilson were to bounce back and be able to start in fantasy, it would be this week. Plus, Nick Foles starts for the Bears. What a time to live.
NFL weather report and forecast for week 16: worry-free weather
The clear weather forecast is a welcome sight for fantasy managers. That said, there is a 100% chance of chaos.
New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles (-10), O / U 40.5 | Sunday 1 p.m. ET
Saquon Barkley is having a bad year, which is not entirely unexpected after suffering an ACL tear last season. But you would have thought things would be better now. Still, sometimes you can’t tell if it’s Barkley or Devontae Booker on the pitch.
That said, Barkley hasn’t ruined your team since returning from his ankle injury. Despite having just one score in his last five games, Barkley has finished in the top 20 in three of the five games while not finishing less well than the RB31. He’s a marginal RB2 against an Eagles team that is 10th in the last four games against the RB (19.10).
As for the weather for Week 16 in Philadelphia, expect 52 degrees, mostly sunny skies, and winds of 8 mph with gusts in the teens.
Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots (-2), O / U 43.5 | Sunday 1 p.m. ET
It’s a huge game, but unfortunately several key players are either in the air or in the air. The Bills came out of both Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis (COVID-19), making guys like Dawson Knox and Emmanuel Sanders almost staple.
On the Patriots’ side, Nelson Agholor (concussion) and Rhamondre Stevenson (illness) are absent, and Kendrick Bourne (COVID-19) has not trained this week. Damien Harris is becoming a fixture and Jakobi Meyers would be in the WR3 lineup in a tough clash.
Foxborough’s Week 16 weather forecast is expected to feature partly cloudy skies, winds of 8 mph, highs near 42 degrees and gusts of around 18 mph.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-9.5) vs Carolina Panthers, O / U 43 | Sunday 1 p.m. ET
My God, the Buccaneers are a whole different offense after just one game. In one game, they lost Chris Godwin (ACL – IR) for the remainder of the season, Leonard Fournette (hamstrings – IR) for the remainder of the regular season and Mike Evans (hamstrings) for at least the week. 16.
Ronald Jones is suddenly an RB1 this week, and Antonio Brown – assuming he’s as good-looking as Arian said – is a low-end WR1.
Fantasy Football cheat sheet: weekly rankings, outlook, injury reports, start / sit tips, and more
Keep an eye out for Tyler Johnson as a sneaky guy who rises. He looked good last week with 4 passes for 41 yards on 7 targets and had two 60+ yard games. I would add it at least in case it explodes. You could potentially use it in Week 17 against the New York Jets for your fantastic championship.
As for the weather forecast in Charlotte, expect sunny skies, 6 mph winds and 49 degrees at kickoff.
Baltimore Ravens vs Cincinnati Bengals (-4.5), O / U 44.5 | Sunday 1 p.m. ET
Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley are both absent for this game. This means that recently signed Josh Johnson will be the starting QB for Baltimore.
Expect 54 degrees, calm winds and partly sunny skies in Cincinnati for Week 16.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Kansas City Chiefs (-8.5), O / U 45 | Sunday 8:20 p.m. ET
If you’re the Steelers, imagine walking into a game and saying, ‘We’re going to make Patrick Mahomes beat us. “
It’s ridiculous to say, especially after seeing him pitch for 410 yards and 3 touchdowns last week. But if I were them, maybe this is what I would do. Sell yourself to finally stop the race for once and see if they can win with Mecole Hardman, Byron Pringle and Blake Bell.
Assuming Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce stay out due to COVID-19, I stay away from the Chiefs wide receivers. Nonetheless, consider Clyde Edwards-Helaire a solid RB2 against a Steelers defense that is the last in the past four weeks against the RBs (34.5) and has seen at least one RB score over 15 PPR points in six consecutive games.
The Kansas City weather forecast for Week 16 is expected to feature mostly cloudy skies, winds of 8 mph and highs near 59 degrees.
